ONE // Sunset
We were treated to the most intense sunset on Tuesday night this week. It had rained and was grey all day, very much a moody vibe. Then the weather cleared up in the evening and the sky just lit up with the most vibrant colours, putting on a real show! I love the sunsets this time of year, they tend to be breathtaking. The thing is, they don't ever last long, so if you in the right place at the right time - it's truly magical! I'm so happy I caught this one! I try to stop and smell the roses (or catch the sunset, so to speak) every once in a while and let myself marvel at the beauty of nature. There are so many ephemeral moments that you only catch if you are paying attention. Look up from your screen every once in a while, you never know what delight you might see!
TWO // Squashies
My husband surprised me with two Squashie flavours I had never tried before! I was so excited! He went to a specialty candy shop and that's where he spotted the Love Hearts and the Sour Shooting Stars. I knew of the existence of these special flavours but had not come across them in my usual spots. I've tried the love hearts and they are delicious! The pineapple and orange flavours are the same as the Drumchicks except they are individual, which I prefer. Sadly, I didn't have any lime flavoured ones in my pack, but I had plenty of the blackcurrant, which I loved!I also tried the sour ones and while I loved the flavours, the sour factor was mild. I'd say there was a slight tang to them, but nothing that would make you pucker. Still delicious, not as sours as I expected. I'm happy to check these two flavours off my list and only have a few left that I haven't tried. Those are the Cherry Cola, the Squeletons, the Fizzers, and the Rhubarb Custard. I just can't get enough of these, they are my current candy fixation!
THREE // Hill House Summer
It has been a little while since a Hill House drop has caught my eye. I feel that with its rapid growth, the company has lost some of its charm for me. That being said, I do still love a Nap Dress and one still catches my eye every once in a while. The summer drop is usually the biggest one of the year and is full of fun prints and some classic Hill House style. I find the line-up of dresses this drop to be more like the good old Hill House from 2021/2022. Lots of pretty, delicate dresses in florals, ginghams, stipes and unique prints. Lots of ethereal pastel pinks, blues, greens and whites. There are a few more saturated hues as well. The vibe is giving botanical gardens. I'm very much loving this drop!
FOUR // Sweet Treat
I popped into Timmies the other day to get a smile cookie. They are only ever around for a short time, so I try to go when I can! It was a beautiful sunny day and I was influenced by the advertising and got a Raspberry Mojito Quencher. I was going to get myself a sweet treat and boy was it a pleasant surprise. This drink is neon pink and even comes with a lime garnish! I mean, I've never gotten anything so fancy from Tim's before, ha ha! If there's one thing you need to know about me, it's that I will always end up getting the most colourful drink on the menu. And most times, they are delicious! That was the case with this bold beverage. I quite enjoyed it - it was refreshing, fruity and a little tangy. I'm not one for carbonation, but I have to say, it was light on the bubbles so did not put me off. I just might be getting more of these this summer. It's a great option for a warm, sunny day!
FIVE // Navy Dress
I love my black and white polka dot dress so much that I went back and got it in navy also. When a dress is that good, I tend to get it in multiple colours. I love the fit and silhouette of this dress so much that it's worth it. It helps that the dresses are at a reasonable price point, that makes it feel like a good investment and the cost-per-wear will be worth it. I've already worn this dress twice; once on a night out and once for a day in the office. A solid navy dress is such a wardrobe staple to have. It can be dressed up or down and navy usually works for everyone's colouring. It's the perfect neutral dress to own, even better if it's comfortable to wear!
