Neutral Flutter

When you don't know what to wear, a simple neutral outfit will always do the trick! I try to avoid wearing head-to-toe beige, as I find it can quickly enter boring territory. I try to mix my neutrals to give the monochromatic look a bit more dimension. Beige and white is a fresh combination that is sure to hit the right neutral balance. I also like to add touches of gold or silver with jewelry. Again, these small hints of shimmer will elevate your look and make it come across as more polished than bland. Today's white jeans were paired with a beige layered ruffle top, gold jewelry and nude patent heels. I love this top (which I've had for ages) because the layered ruffles give this simple beige tee a bit of pep. This design on a bolder colour might be a bit too much, while no ruffles on a beige tee could be underwhelming. Statement pieces come in all shapes and colours, be sure to choose those that speak to you.

Lace be Honnest

Let's talk about lace, again. It is so feminine and delicate. I love that it can be dressed up or down and can be incorporated in an outfit in so many ways. I kept today's outfit rather simple and classic. You can never go wrong with black and white, but it can get a tad boring if it is repeated too often. That is the reason for which I like to add a bit of interest with certain pieces. By wearing a white lace top with a simple black skinny jean, it lets the top shine and become the main focal point of the outfit. The top will not have to compete with the bottom if the bottom serves as a backdrop for the top. By wearing a black sandal, I've just elongated the leg and it blends in seamlessly as part of the backdrop.
