ONE // Apple Purse
Earlier this summer I had snagged this adorable apple purse while on a day trip to Merrickville. I love spending the day in this quaint little town filled with boutiques as adorable as the next. I have a soft spot for thematic purses so this apple caught my eye. It was love at first sight! I've been patiently waiting until fall to style it with some cute sweaters and seasonal wares. The time has come and I'm champing at the bit to take my apple purse for a spin!
My orchid started growing a new stem a few weeks ago and it got me really excited because it's the first sign that the plant is getting ready to bloom. I love it when my orchid is in bloom and it's lining up to be during my favourite season. Just before we left on vacation, I could tell the first flower was about to open. When we got back, two of the six buds had bloomed! It was such a nice surprise to come home to. I've found myself staring at my plant all the time since we got home. The orchid's blooming cycle can vary greatly so it's always a treat when my plant decides to bless me with flowers. I know they'll last a few weeks, sometimes as many as 8 to 10. I'm hoping this blooming cycle will last a long time because I love my pretty flowers so much!
THREE // Black Sheep
It's been a particularly busy year for babies in our friends and family circle. That means that I've had to order a few crochet stuffies to gift all of these bundles of joy. Our tradition is alive and well! The most recent order was for my sister (or rather for our incoming niece or nephew). Her nursery is farm-themed, which means we had plenty of cute animal options to choose from. However, when brainstorming which animal to get, there was only one obvious choice. In 2020, my sister had moved back home and spent a lot of time on the farm. During this time, she got really close to a black sheep and she had named him Alfred. They were tight! Alfred has not been part of her life for a few years now, but he is remembered fondly. Naturally, a black sheep was the only option for this teddy. I asked to have a small A embroidered on its paw as a sweet nod to the original black sheep. We gave it to my sister last week and she was over the moon! She knew she'd be getting one but her excitement upon opening it was palpable! It's perfect!
I have been stalking the grocery shelves since the beginning of August hoping to find some Pumpkin Spice coffee creamer. I know that in the past, it would hit the shelves as early as mid-August. Well, I lucked out yesterday when I finally found it! My favourite one is the International Delight. It's the superior PSL creamer, in my opinion. However, I had to look behind the caramel creamers (which are also in a yellow bottle) to actually find it. Very pleased with myself for looking really well because it was hiding! My daily coffees have officially transitioned to fall and I am enjoying ever sip!
FIVE // G&G Fall Edit
I'm in full fall mode, in case you couldn't tell. I'm clearly not the only one because my favourite little hair bow company is also all in! Sarah released her fall edit and it's such a good line-up! We have the return of the merlot satin but in new silhouettes along with the satin hazelnut and black. We have the reappearance of some old favourite fabric bows in dark green and honey block print as well as a re-edition of a lighter weight black watch tartan. The collection's showstopper is the oversized crimson Bailee bow. This one is every so fabulous! You really can't go wrong with any of these classics for autumn! They launched yesterday so be sure to snag your favourite fall bows before they sell out!
