Mimi Takes Five - #430

ONE // Poppy Earrings
I'd been wanting poppy earrings ever since I saw that the Royal Canadian Legion sold them. I love the idea of wearing poppy earrings in the run-up to Remembrance Day. It's an easy way to include poppies in your everyday and having them on your ears makes them very visible. I'm a big fan of statement and themed earrings, so poppy earrings fit right into my personal style. I absolutely love them! I know I could wear them all year round (and I just might), but having this as another option to sport the poppy is such a great one! I love my poppy brooch and am happy to add the earrings into the rotation.

TWO // Mustard Cardigan
Years ago, I had a mustard cardigan with ruffled collar. I loved it! I've always loved yellow and wearing shades of yellow, especially warm mustard hues. Needless to say, it's not the easiest colour to come across. Luckily for me, I spotted this gem, which is the closest I've even come to replacing my old mustard cardigan. I absolutely love it! I'd say the colour has more orange tones in person and in certain lighting so it's more of an in between mustard and ochre. Either way, it's a perfect warm, jewel tone and fits perfectly in my wardrobe. I'll be sure to get plenty of wear out of it!

THREE // Hilary Duff - Holiday Things
Hilary Duff, this millennial icon, is having a renaissance and it's been a masterclass in how to make a comeback. After having risen to fame as a child actress, most known for her character of Lizzie McGuire, she then went on to start a signing career. While she's continued to sing and act throughout the years, there was a bit of a lull when she focused more on her family. However, she's back in full force now and has reignited her signing career, to the delight of her many fans. I was thrilled to get new music this year and what a treat to discover we got a Christmas album, too! She released five new songs last week and I've been listening to them on repeat. There is no Santa Claus Lane, but I can live with that. I love her original songs and her takes on the classics. It's been on repeat for a few days now and I made sure to add them to my festive music playlist.

FOUR //Decorative Stand
My mom gifted me this orange fall leaf decorative stand. It fits right into my autumnal décor. I actually didn't have any such stands but I do like the slight elevation they offer to display other decorative bits and bobs. I love the warm orange shade of it and the wood elements are always welcome in my book. For now, I've added it to the centrepiece of my dining room table. It's a perfect addition! Now that I'm thinking about putting away the fall decorations, I'm toying with the idea of keeping it out all year round. My everyday décor includes pops of orange and I think it could totally work. The leaves are subtle enough that it won't look out of place. I'll try it out and see if I can make it work. Either way, it'll be part of the fall décor from here on out!

FIVE // G&G Holiday Bows
For the first time in a little while, Grace & Grandeur is launching a new bow silhouette and I have to say, this one makes me choke up a little. All of her bows are named after women in her family tree and Madeleine is named in memory of her precious daughter. There is something so delicate and timeless about this new bow. This silhouette is sweet and soft. I love a statement bow, but the Madeleine is perfect in its low-profile. A subtle bow that doesn't need to be loud to take up space. I also love the warmth of the colour palette. Toasted Pecan and Pine are calling my name. I am the biggest fan of G&G bows and have the collection to prove it. I would recommend these bows for their elegance and quality. It's never too early to start your holiday shopping!
