Mimi Takes Five - #146

ONE // Hoppy Easter!
It's the one day of the year when it's okay to hide chocolate all over the house. There's nothing I love more than waking up to the excitement of scavenging for sweet treats! Seriously! My husband always hides a few chocolate eggs for me to find on Easter morning. I'm just a big kid at heart! Seeing as it's an easy Easter with just the two of us, we loaded up on chocolatey treats to nibble on and even got a beautiful bouquet of spring flowers to brighten our main living space. We plan on just enjoying the beautiful weather and having a drink on the deck. The simple life is the life!

TWO // Retro Speaker
My husband and I have been wanting a Bluetooth speaker for the bathroom for quite some time and finally settled on this teeny tiny retro-looking one. It is the most adorable thing, I can't get over how cute it is! It's very compact and the dials on it actually work. It's rechargeable and not only connects via Bluethooth, but it also has FM radio and a slot for a mini SD card! I mean, this thing not only looks the part, it also delivers! Oh, and the speaker sound is loud and clear. The fact that it's portable makes it the ideal thing to bring with us on future travels (whenever we start leaving the house again...)

THREE // Stop a Scarf From Slipping
I came across this really neat trick the other day and thought I'd share it here! As someone who wears silky scarves in her hair regularly during the warmer seasons, I do find myself worrying about the scarf slipping or falling out. I like my scarves and wouldn't want to lose them, but checking one's ponytail 50 times a day is a bit unrealistic. I think this trick of looping your scarf through your hair tie simply genius! No more nervous Nellie always checking on her scarf!

FOUR // Outlander, Season 6
Seeing this background video this week put a smile on my face. The sixth season of Oultander is well and truly in the making! I've loved this season for the past couple years now and am a fan. My sister lent me the first two books and I've just finished reading the first one. I doubt I'll get to the sixth one before the season is released, but at least I'm not feeling the draughtlander so much. It's great to see some behind-the-scenes footage of a series in the making. Bring on the new season; "je suis prest!"

FIVE // Dog Fashion
Since I've been working from home, I've been taking my dog for (very) regular walks. She's always loved going for walks, but doesn't need them because she's a small dog and gets plenty of exercise indoors and in the backyard. All that to say that I've realized she needs different accommodations for the different seasons. She already had a sweater for winter, which is great and she wore it often the past few weeks. However, as the snow has melted and we've moved on to the rainy season, I was looking for an option that would keep her dry, without the bulk and heat of a sweater. Turns out I found this adorable rubber duck rain coat at Canada Pooch and just couldn't resist! I mean, it's so stinking adorable! While I was at it, I also ordered a little hoodie for indoors. She tends to shiver more after getting groomed, so this should help keep her nice and cozy. I am slowly but surely building my dog a wardrobe of her own now... I have now reached this point in the pandemic, ha ha!
