Frozen Fruit
Man, oh man. Just when you think spring is (finally) around the corner, you get hit with an ice storm... This one was pretty bad. The winds were very strong and the weight of the ice broke trees and hydro poles, so many people were without power. Schools were closed and buses cancelled. I actually decided to brave the weather and go to work because the city buses were still running. However, my walk to the bus stop proved a treacherous obstacle course. Not only was the street iced over (the grass too!), but I had to dodge literal chunks of ice falling from trees. I had put my grips on my boots for the extra tracking and armed myself with winter gear and an umbrella because there was still sleet falling from the sky. This is definitely not spring weather. I really hope to see some sun and higher temps soon. This winter was brutal!
I decided to go ahead and wear all my fruit-themed pieces today, because it is theoretically spring-time appropriate... I layered my cherry-print blouse and lemon-print sweater and added pineapple earrings for good measure. I call this my fruit-salad look! I apologize for wearing these red rubber boots so much lately, but between this crazy weather and breaking my second pair last week, these babies are all I've got! Don't get me wrong, I adore my Hunters! But, you guys are probably getting tired of seeing them here. At least I'm making a case for the versatility of red boots though...
