70's Roadie

This look is inspired by my dad in the 70's. He has curly hair, so naturally he grew an afro... He was, and still is a farmer, so plaid has always been a wardrobe staple of his. I would even venture to say that plaid is his "neutral"! Also, the flared trousers were big in that decade, and my dad was sure to jump on that band wagon too. When I asked him to find me a picture of his quintessential 70's look, he replied that he didn't have many pictures as he spent most of the time shirtless or in a swimsuit... I guess it's a good thing I'm only inspired by his style and don't follow it to a tee! Naturally, when I put this outfit together, I was channeling my dad. Big hair, plaid shirt and flared jeans were combined to recreate that same vibe. I added a couple feminine and trendy touches with the stacked heels and the double buckle belt. I also could not resist adding my camel leather jacket to the mix! Hey, if I'm going to do the 70's thing, I'm going to do all the way!
