Mimi Takes Five - #57

ONE // Canada Day Weekend
Long weekends are for spending time with friends and family. After our trip, that's exactly what we did! We had plans to visit with a friend at her mom's lake house and it was just what the doctor ordered! The weather kept us on our toes, but we made the most of every moment: puzzles and board games when it was rainy and fishing and dock hangs when the sun was shining. Great food, great company and a beautiful setting made for a fabulous weekend. We're planning on catching the Canada Day fireworks tonight. Happy long weekend every one!

TWO // Reunited with the Puppies
As fun as travelling is, I always find myself missing our puppies! They are just such a big part of our day-to-day lives that a huge piece is missing when they are not with us. We definitely feel the void when they are not there. It's the little things I miss, they just have such cute little habits that I've become accustomed to, so I notice when they are not around. The best part about coming home is definitely seeing them again and seeing their reactions too! They are always happy to see us, but it's especially heart-warming when we get back from a trip. This was the longest we'd ever left them, so it was so great to be reunited with out four-legged friends!

THREE // Mamma Mia! Here we go Again
Last week, when on one of our long-haul flights, I finally got around to watching Mamma Mia! Here we go Again! This movie had been on my to-watch list for a while now and not sure how I never got around to seeing it. Growing up, my mom would blast the Mamma Mia soundtrack all the time, so I know every single song. I was looking forward to this movie even though the reviews were mixed. I actually loved it! I thought the look back at Donna's life was a great way of explaining how she met Sam, Bill and Harry! It was so endearing and very heart-warming to watch. I loved it as much, if not more, than the first movie. Lily James was wonderful as young Donna!

FOUR // June Ipsy
When we got home from our honeymoon, my bright pink Ipsy bag was waiting in my mail pile. I know it's the last day of the month, but here is it! This month's theme was Tetris. Ipsy partnered with the game for their anniversary and made puzzle-inspired bags in all the colours of the rainbow. They also made an entire line of products inspired by the retro game. I got the red edition of the bag and one of the golden eye shadows. I got a lip gloss, a brow gel (which is totally awesome), a facial oil, face masks, a nail polish and a mud mask cleanser. I'm a little bummed because I did not receive one of my add-ons this month... I reached out to Ipsy and am hoping they send it because I was really looking forward to that particular product.

FIVE // Purple Lace Dress
So I was totally expecting to do a bit more shopping while in Europe, but turns out our schedule was so jam packed that we barely got a moment to ourselves. We had free time in Bonn one morning (and because the Beethoven House was closed for renovations) we decided to go to TK Maxx and get our shopping on. It's basically the same as TJ Maxx in the States, but with a K. I perused the racks and came across this gorgeous plum lace dress. I tried it on and it was love at first sight! I can't wait to wear it! It might be more suited to a fall event or even for winter with tights. I find the shade a bit dark for summer, but couldn't pass it up!
