Mimi Takes Five - #54

ONE // Riviera
We went out to dinner last night on a double date with an aunt and uncle. We decided to get all dressed up and try out one of the fancier dining places in town: Riviera! This restaurant had been on our "to-try" list for a while now and when V and J invited us out to celebrate our anniversary and her milestone birthday, we knew exactly where to go! This place is so beautiful and has a great atmosphere. It's in an old bank and the high ceilings and imposing architecture really make you feel like you are dining in Gringotts! The menu options are fantastic and the execution is perfection. We had a fabulous evening in great company! I can't wait to see where we'll go next.

TWO // Blue Espadrilles
When something is so great, you buy it in multiple colours! That is the case with these Old Navy espadrilles. I have a lot of Old Navy shoes because they are both fashionable and comfortable, not to mention affordable. But let me just say that these espadrilles are the most comfortable I have purchased in a long time. Zero blisters or rubbing after wearing them all day without breaking them in. Now, how often can that be said about a pair of shoes? I loved my red ones so much I snagged this pair of chambray blue ones. The wedge espadrille is my go-to shoe of the summer for a reason!

THREE // Thank You Mailout
The time has finally come: I'm mailing out my wedding thank you cards! To be honest, this took me longer than I thought it would. Turns out I'm not used to hand writing for extended periods of time anymore. I also wanted to take the time to write individual, heartfelt messages. Good things take time and I didn't want to rush the process. However, I knew I was almost done so set myself the goal of mailing them out before we left on honeymoon. Everything is signed, sealed and delivered! Check your mailboxes!

FOUR // Little Polka Dot Dress
Not able to resist anything with polka dots, I couldn't help myself but to try on this dress at my local Old Navy when I first spotted it. I'm also a huge a fan of the classic black and white combination, the fit and flare shape of the dress and the ruffled neckline. This dress was pretty much tailor made for me! It fits like a glove and just makes me want to spin and twirl while wearing it. If you're only ever going to wear one dress this summer, this is it! It comes in an array of different prints and I'm tempted to get another one...

FIVE // Navy Sandals
I have been looking for an everyday navy sandal for years now. I wanted something practical, comfortable and versatile. Well, I found these beauties at H&M the other day and scooped them up! The block heel makes it stable and easy to walk in, the ankle strap also helps with stability and the simple foot strap keeps all the piggies in place. I can easily wear these from a casual outfit to a dressy one and everything in between. I find navy footwear to be a basic and a neutral, so naturally I need a go-to pair for every season!
