Mimi Takes Five - #156

ONE // Graphic T-shirt
I love a good graphic t-shirt! I wear them for lounging on the weekends or styled for a workday and everything in between. They are such conversation starters! I knew I needed this "Messy Bun Day" one because, having long hair, it is often piled high on my head. Naturally, this saying is a perfect fit! Bonus points for the message being inoffensive.

TWO // Men in Kilts
I've been enjoying this new show Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham. To be honest, I needed something to tide me over during yet another droughtlander... Sure, reading the books is a great way to stay within the world, but this show is also great! Seeing as we can't travel right now, it's also helping a bit with the wanderlust. Besides, Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish are super entertaining and keep things light and fun. Plus, the references to filming Outlander are great little nuggets of information. Finally, I dream of one day touring Scotland to really tap into my heritage and I feel like I'm getting a taste of what that will look like watching this show. Have any of my fellow Outlander fans watched it?

THREE // Workout Bands
I snagged this set of elastic workout bands from H&M a few weeks ago and it's a great thing to have. Not only does the set come with three bands of different colours but they are also of different resistance levels. Plus, the little carrying pouch makes them perfect for travelling! They take up practically no space, are lightweight, quiet and offer a great little resistance training on the go.

FOUR // Espadrille Sneakers
By now, you all know what a huge fan of wedge espadrilles I am. I also like a good, basic sneaker. Naturally, I had to have the shoe that combines both of these styles, right? Behold the  espadrille sneaker! I really love this neutral, goes-with-every-outfit shoe and the platform totally harks back to the 90s. Growing up in the era of the Spice Girls, platform shoes were a dime a dozen! It's kind of nice to have that little nod in a more timeless model, yet retain that fun-factor. Also, these shoes speak to my love of straw, so they will obviously match with all of my straw hats and bags. I'm nothing if not consistent, ha ha!

FIVE // Puzzle Time
When the weekend forecast is gloomy and rainy, it's the perfect time to pull out a new puzzle! Nothing says relaxing to me like getting lost in a sea of pieces and face the challenge of putting it all together to reveal a masterpiece. I get totally enthralled when puzzling and love it that much more when it's grey and rainy outdoors. I create a warm little cocoon of peace and really find my zen. Today's puzzle is a compass and a map that we got ages ago. I predict the monochrome colour palette will make it extra challenging. I'll be sure to have the kettle brewing and the podcasts playing: fuel the mind, body and soul!
