Gingham, Gingham, Gone!

Would you believe me we woke up to a fresh 20 cm of snow in April (after everything had already melted?) Welcome to Canadian spring! I've been wanting to wear some cute spring outfits, so I'm forcing things today. The snow was heavy and sticky (everything looked really beautiful outside), but I had a feeling it would be a very wet and slushy situation as the day progressed. So, I insisted on wearing rain boots and a rain coat. Thankfully, my yellow raincoat is lined with a furry texture so it's actually a good option. I did decide on wearing thicker tights, however. While I feel like I looked out of place in the crowd, I was actually dressed for the weather. I'm trying to force spring into existence. My neighbour spotted me no problem in a sea of drab people at the train stop! She spotted the colour, ha ha! I mean, I do look like a highlighter in my yellow coat, so that tracks! The night before, I had planned on wearing my lilac gingham dress and when I opened the blinds to see the snow, I decided I was going to wear my planned outfit regardless. Some mornings it's not worth the headache of changing gears.
