That Ruffle Touch

I was inspired to layer my ruffle-trim blouse à la Duchess of Cambridge today. I loved the effect of the peeking white trim from the red blazer and was reminded I have a blouse that would create a similar effect. While the DoC's look was more business, I opted for a softer, casual take. Instead of red, white and black, I swapped out the bold red for blush pink. I also chose a jewelled sweater, snowflake earrings and a velvet bow barrette. I absolutely love the effect of the ruffle collar and this V-neck sweater! It's feminine, preppy and a little unexpected without being stuffy. I'll admit layering was a bit challenging as this blouse has sleeves. My husband had to help me adjust the layers, ha ha! The struggle was worth it though because the result is perfection. However, I am thinking of trying to find a sleeveless option to add to my wardrobe, you know, for ease of layering...
