Plush Shimmer

I decided to go in a different direction with my monochromatic look and go for colour. I definitely went with my signature hue: purple! To keep the look from looking to unidimensional, I varied the shades and textures. The sweater is more of a muted mauve and is made in a metallic knit that catches the light while the pants are a dark grape velvet that anchor the look. Since it was raining and there were many puddles to negotiate, I didn't have much of a choice but to wear rubber boots. I opted for my burgundy ones that almost blend-in seamlessly with the pants. Things could have been worst! I did add in a colourful scarf to break-up the purple party and I like the way it stands out without clashing. Monochromatic looks can be achieved with any colour really. It just requires a bit of balancing between the shades and textures.
