Mimi Takes Five - #124

ONE // Pumpkin Sweater
This is the ultimate pumpkin sweater. I say that with full confidence as I've never seen pumpkins done is such a classy and timeless way. This Fair Isle sweater is the most darling from the design to the colour palette; it's a quintessential autumn piece that I was more than happy to add to my wardrobe this season. I know a gourd thing when I see it! ;)

TWO // Autumn Nature Walk
I try to get out at least once a day to go for a walk and get some fresh air. Turns out, my puppy really likes joining me on these walks. She's such an outside dog! I particularly love it during this time of year because the air is crisp and the trees are so colourful. I try to go on little paths that are a little escape from suburbia and it feels like we are out in the woods. I just can't get enough of the pretty sights and the crunch of leaves under my feet. I took little snippets of this moment as this time of year is so fleeting and will be gone before we know it.

THREE // Orange Turtleneck
I snagged this beautiful "gingerbread" coloured turtleneck on sale from RW&CO the other day. It's the perfect light-weight layering piece for all those fall outfits. I'm always on the hunt for solid-coloured long-sleeved tops because they are a go-to layering base for anything from sweaters to dresses to vests and shirts. They are a great way of adding a pop of colour or a layer of warmth to almost any cold-weather look. I'm happy to have found this warm-toned one to add to my collection!

FOUR //Shoe Wall
I'll admit, I have an extensive shoe collection. Rest assured, it has been years in the making and I hang on to things for a long time. This collection was not amassed over night! That being said, I've had a beautiful tower of shoe boxes stacked along a wall in my basement since we moved back home post fire. I had them all labelled and they were categorized, but I found myself playing jenga every time I needed a pair of shoes. I knew I needed a better solution. The idea came to me as I was watching Get Organized on Netflix. I scoured the internet to find the perfect model of clear stackable shoe boxes that would work for me. Luckily, I found them nearby and on sale! I bought out both stores in my city... Then, over the span of a week, I assembled the clear boxes, relocated the old shoe wall, edited my collection (down 20 pairs!), built the wall (with reinforcements - and my husband's help) and finally found new homes for each and every pair of shoes. I am beyond thrilled with the result! I love being able to see what shoes are in which box, the symmetry is so pleasing and I can't forget the easy access. No more fear of a shoe avalanche! Oh, and I have three empty boxes, so that's a big win!

FIVE // Brown Velvet Headband
This week, on Mimi's Headband Collection: the padded brown velvet! I added this gem to my collection this fall and absolutely love it! The only other padded headbands I have are the bejewelled Zara ones (à la Duchess of Cambridge) I got last year. My go-to is clearly the knotted style. I love how lightweight this Simons one is and it gives me much more height. I really like the warm brown hue as it's close to my hair colour, so blends it and ends up being a neutral accessory that actually blends in. I'm having fun wearing it with different hairstyles!
