ONE // Active Top
Another item I got during my birthday shopping spree at Winners was this pink long sleeve workout top. Sure, it's not the most exciting item. But I'd been loving wearing long sleeves on my morning runs this past fall, as the weather was cooling down, and I plan on doing the same this spring. I was hoping to get more because the two I have were getting lots of wear. This pink one is perfect! It's a brand I've never tried before - Spyder. The inside is a little fuzzy and soft, it's got thumb holes at the cuffs and even a little hidden zippered pocket on the side. I've already worn it to dance class and it was the ideal light layer! I'm really pleased I found a workout top I love!
TWO // The Sticky
This show had totally slipped past my radar. I'd only heard of it over the holidays when both my dad and brother independently recommended it. It's about a maple syrup heist. If that's not the most Canadian premise you've ever heard, then I don't know what to tell you. It's very loosely based on a true story. We are halfway through and so far it's been a captivating watch. The characters are well-fleshed out and I have to say, the entire thing is giving off Bon Cop, Bad Cop vibes. There's just something about Canadian show, eh?
THREE // HHH Spring Drop
Why does Hill House have such a chokehold on me? I don't need any more Nap Dresses (I caved on the heart one two weeks ago!) But when that line sheet drops, I can't look away... The spring drop is huge and absolutely filled with florals and pastels. I have to say, looking at it while the snow storm rages outside is giving me hope that spring will come. There is an overwhelming selection of dresses and patterns. I'm most drawn to the Pink Bluebonnet print but am also loving the Rose Circular Lattice and the Pink Emma Stripe. If (and that's a big if) I decided to treat myself, I think I'd make an effort to try a new-to-me silhouette like the Scarlett or the Dominique. Lord knows I don't need another Ellie. That being said, if you are new and starting out with Hill House, the Ellie is the dress to start with and it comes in a great selection of prints this drop. A floral print Ellie is a rite of passage.
FOUR // Lilac Necklace
I'd been eyeing this lilac gem and pearl necklace since last summer. It would match perfectly with my lilac and pearl earrings! I don't know why I hesitated for so long to get it, but I added it to my cart in December when I was placing an order. It's actually so delicate and dainty in person, just what I was hoping for! I've got lots of lilac clothing now and have been wearing my earrings a lot, so knew a matching necklace would be a great addition to my jewelry box. Now I just have to remember to wear it! With spring around the corner, I'm sure I'll be reaching for lilac more and more.
FIVE // Bath Bombs
For Christmas, my mom had given me some gift cards and a bag full of bath bombs. I guess she knows me pretty well! There must have been six or so in total. I was thrilled because taking baths is a bit of a winter ritual for me and I love noting more than a luxurious soak. I make it a real treat! While my go-to bath bomb place is Lush, my mom got me a bunch from Bath & Body Works. I'd never tried their bath bombs but I've been pleasantly surprised. I like that they are all individually wrapped. While not exactly ecological, I do appreciate that the scents are more contained and they are easier to store. I find they smell nice and they fizz well. However, they don't compare in potency or colour to their Lush counterparts. I like an obnoxious scent and colourful bath water but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. Want something less intense, try the Bath & Body Works options!
