TBT - Riverdance

The hair, the skirt, the tights, the green: they all scream Riverdance to me! Trade out the boots for some black lace-up flats (or ghillies) and I would look like I belong on stage in the famous line. I remember receiving a Riverdance tape for my birthday in third grade and I watched that thing for weeks on end. I could not get enough of it! Forward a few years and I am still taking tap classes today. (Yes, I know Riverdance is not tap, but Irish step dancing is a similar dance style.) All that to say, I figured I'd share a very Irish-inspired look on the day before St. Patrick's!

Watch the Reel Around the Sun number to see the look inspiration in action!

TBT - Batting Lashes

I wore this blush pleated midi skirt a few years back. I love how it is high-waisted and allows for a bit of creativity with proportions. I paired it with a cropped black eyelash sweater and a cute little bow belt. I added some major bling and black boots to finish off the look. I love the balance of black and blush and the colour combination reminds me of my dancing days... The idea of styling my hair in a bun probably stemmed from that nostalgia. This outfit is a perfect example of how to wear pastels in the cooler months. Pairing them with black gives them that slightly more edgy feel without making them look out of place.

Fancy Mime

So this look started off by me wanting to pair a crop top with a high-waisted midi skirt, but I quickly realized I was channeling a street mime! The striped top, the black bottom and a touch of red... I'm only missing the white gloves and face paint! I did a classic black cat-eye and a red lip as a nod to the traditional face makeup. I never realized just how stylish classic street mimes are. This look is 100% French flair and I absolutely love it! I guess my French heritage has something to do with my obsession with stripes... It must be in my blood!

TBT - High-Low My Darling

Seeing, as there will most likely still be snow on the ground for Easter, I figured I'd feature a potential Easter outfit today. I love the feminine, delicate features of this dress. The pastel floral, the high-low hem and the frilled neckline are elements that add sweetness to the look. I had paired the dress with a green cropped cardigan, a beige bow waist belt and yellow and tan wedge sandals. This would make a perfect look for egg hunting or attending church. I only wish I had a tan like that during Easter, but seeing as I only tan naturally, I never get this kind of colouring in early spring!
