Mimi Takes Five - #6

ONE// Beach Bag
It just isn't summer unless I'm toting around a cute straw beach bag! This stunner is from Old Navy and I could not be more happy with it! It's very large, is lined and even has a zipped inside pocket. The stripes are always a good call in my book and the colourful tassel adds just the right amount of pop to it! I'd even go as far as changing up the tassel to make it work with different looks. The leatherette straps are also a nice touch as the straw-wrapped straps from previous bags tend to unravel a bit.

TWO // Ocean's 8

We were having a heat wave over Canada Day long weekend, so my fiancé and I decided it would be a great time to go to the movies! We saw Ocean's 8 and loved it! Being a fan of the Ocean's series, convincing him to go was not a hard sell! There was fashion, jewelry and a good dose of girl-power for me and lots of action for him. The line-up of actors was amazing and had a lot of my favs such as Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sandra Bullock, Sarah Paulson and James Corden. I was also pleasantly surprised by Rihanna's acting skills! I would recommend it to anyone who likes a decent plot line that's not overly complex and hard to follow.

TREE// Lemon Earrings
How could I pass these up??? They are lemon earrings! With all the other lemon things, I just needed these in my life! They are bright, cheerful and perfectly summery! They will be sure to add zest to any outfit! For anyone keeping tabs, this is my third set of fruity earrings. I've already got pineapples and cherries... What will fall from the fruit tree next?

FOUR // Climbing Veg
My fiancé is all about beautifying are backyard this year and I'm not complaining. He's actually doing a fantastic job and turning it into a little haven! Last summer (first one post-fire) our backyard was a mess. We poured a concrete slab and had a deck and pergola built but, by the time those big things got done, summer was almost over. That is why this year, we've been focusing more of making it pretty! We added lattice to one side of the pergola (yours truly helped a lot on this building project) because we wanted somewhere for the peas and beans to climb. Well, now our hard work is paying off and the veggies are climbing away, giving us a beautiful green wall in the backyard! It doesn't just look pretty, but it will be yummy too! I just love picking fresh veggies anytime I'm out there. There is nothing quite like it!

FIVE // Nude Flats

I got these nude patent flats the other day because I needed some new nude flats. They are such a versatile shoe to have in your wardrobe and will literally go with any look! This particular pair has the cutest gold heel on them! It brings them up a notch and adds to the shininess of the patent. This detail makes them totally appropriate for a more formal setting, but you can also easily dress them down. They are super comfortable and I predict I will be getting my money's worth out of these ones!
