Mimi Takes Five - #20

ONE // Puffer Jacket
I got my very first puffer jacket last winter (thanks mom!) and will never look back! It was the warmest, coziest and most reliable coat to wear on the coldest of days. Just thinking about it is making me excited to bust it out again this season. Seeing how much I love my heavy-duty winter coat, I didn't hesitate to snag this shorter, fall version when I spotted it on sale! It's the prettiest shade of purple (my weakness), it's down filled (super light and warm) plus it's packable. That is to say it comes with its own little pouch to pack it up neatly, making it the perfect travelling coat! It seriously takes up very little room. Think plane travel between different climates. You're welcome!

TWO // Pumpkin Spice Latte
We are now well into October, so I think it's safe to talk about Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I am a huge fan of lattes in general and this flavour holds a special place in my heart. One of my all-time favourite types of pie is pumpkin (with whipped cream), so it makes sense that I be drawn to this particular spice mix. Although I love the Second Cup version, I got into the habit of making them at home. I got a milk steamer for Christmas last year and have been using it to steam milk for all of my coffee and tea lattes (can't completely forget about the tea!) Once I got a pumpkin spice flavoured syrup, there really was no stopping me! I make myself a pumpkin spice latte whenever I fancy! Who wants to leave a cozy house for a coffee run anyways? I get to enjoy mine in my PJs, curled up in front of the TV on an easy weekend morning. They taste way better that way!

THREE // Last Man Standing
I grew up in the 90s, watching Home Improvement and the Santa Clause, so I've been a Tim Allen fan for as long as I can remember. How could I not? I think the guy just reminds me of my own dad, especially his Tool Man character. My dad (the farmer) has a knack for temporary fixes and some can be slightly hazardous... Perhaps that is the parallel I made as a kid. My dad has always been a good sport about those comparisons and laughs them off! Love you dad! All that to say that I am beyond excited to have Tim's latest sitcom back on T.V.! It was cut from ABC last year and bounced around networks for a bit before being dropped altogether. Fox picked it up for its seventh season and the opening scene of the first episode laughs about the whole situation. It's quite funny and totally in line with Tim's sense of humour. I love a good old family-centric sitcom!

Four // Mustard Shirt
My love-affair with mustard yellow continues... I cracked for this striped shirt! It will be perfect layered underneath sweaters and will stretch out the amount of outfits in which I can incorporate the hue! I can easily dress it up with a pencil skirt or down with jeans and a quilted vest. The shade slightly leans towards cognac, so it's has that deep, rich tone. It really is a great piece to add to my fall wardrobe!

FIVE // Rose Gold Stapler
I never leave HomeSense empty-handed. That place has the knack of stocking exactly what you need, even though you had no idea you needed it! We were there the other day when I came across this clear rose-gold stapler. Once I clapped eyes on it, I knew it would be the perfect addition to my home office. It's classic, yet modern. We are now two years post-fire, and are still replacing things. Granted, we are taking our time, but the list really is never-ending. Taking it slow allows us to live without things for as long as we can and it brings to light exactly which items we do use as opposed to those we can live without. We are sticking to replacing only usable items. A stapler is definitely a practical thing to have in one's office, so it made the cut!
