Striping the Right Cord
Today's look is all about textures, after all, that is what fall is all about! Corduroy skirt, cozy knit sweater, lace blouse and patterned tights all add interest and dimension to my outfit. The layering of different textures brings me so much joy. I find it instantly gives your look that cozy factor and makes you look put together without making it look like you were trying to look put together. Does that make any sense? I guess what I'm trying to say is don't be scared to add plenty of textures and to have fun with them as opposed to worrying if it'll all be too much. I like to live on the more is more side when it comes to dressing. Sure, I like a good basic, simple look, but there is something to be said about a cozy layered look too! The textures make your layers go a long way and don't add extra bulk! I'm only wearing a blouse and sweater (two layers) but because the blouse has two different textures it gives the illusion there are more layers than actually appear. It's a fashion-illusion!
