One for All and One for Fall

When layering season is upon us, I get overtaken by the need to mix prints as well! Mixing plaids and stripes is one of my all-time favourite combinations and this look is all about that mix! I opted for a white, red and green plaid shirt and layered it underneath a striped lip-print sweater. While the red of the lip picks up on the red in the shirt, I see the sweater as a neutral piece in my look. I added dark wash jeans and beige booties to the mix. Again, these pieces provide a solid colour to create contrast. I got a little carried away with the black watch plaid coat and matching scarf to my shirt... I actually like the juxtaposition of plaids. I stuck to only two varying colourways and I find the black watch acts as the more neutral of the two, providing a great background for the scarf to stand out! Would you dare mix your plaids?
