Wishful Spring-ing

Well, we are at the part of winter that deceivingly feels like spring. The sun is shining, the snow is melting and the birds are chirping. However, being the experienced Canadian that I am, I know too well that this will not last. This is what we call "fools spring." It happens pretty much every year, yet spring has yet to actually appear at the end of February. I'm sure we've got plenty of snowfalls left in the season and winter will likely last until past Easter. Either way, I decided to wear what I call a "spring psych" outfit: light washed jeans, a striped sweater, a plaid scarf and booties. Ideally, this could be worn on a brisk spring day without a coat. It has a light colour palette and fun print-mixing, yet is still layered and warm enough for a chilly wind gust. We are about to enter a transition between seasons and these times can be tricky to dress for. My tips are to not rush into it and wear layers that you can peel off (or add on) depending on the weather fluctuations in the coming weeks.
