Bling on the Jingle

This is the look I actually wore on Christmas Eve for our réveillon. I went with a bold and shiny black look with pops of red. It was perfectly festive and comfy to boot! I was able to host with ease and lounge around in total comfort. Let's face it, I did more lounging as my better half is definitely more of a "host-with-the-most" type than I am! Don't get me wrong, I love the company and the entertainment parts, but the feeding and keeping drinks topped off is not my forte. I for sure fell far from the tree on that one as all of my other family members are stellar hosts... Come to think of it, maybe I'm more like my dad in that respect. It's not all bad, we get to keep each other company while all the other chefs are in the kitchen vying for the top spot. It sure makes for a good show at times, but I prefer staying out of it. Like the saying goes: can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen! Somehow, my ever-so-clever mom figured out that I was great at doing dishes, so I always get recruited for that part... Thanks mom.

As it turns out, I have another thing in common with my dad, which is my love for plaid! He is your stereotypical farmer and, like any good country boy, he sports his plaid proudly! It must be in the genes because I cannot for the life of me pass up anything plaid. Exhibit A, today's look. Even on the most festive day of the year, I manage to wear a flannel buffalo plaid shirt... I will forever associate my dad with plaid. It's a classic combination that is sure to never go out of style and can be worn for almost any occasion.
