This little shirtdress is the perfect transition piece that will take you from the hot days of summer to being perfectly polished for back-to-school! I always like dressing for this time of year because I find it inspiring! The thought of fall being just around the corner makes me happy and pulling out all the preppy and cozy fall-coloured things sparks joy!

With a lot of kids going back to school soon, I can't help but feel a pang of nostalgia for the good old days of back-to-school in my childhood. The excitement over getting new school gear and the anticipation of seeing your friends again and meeting your new teacher were highlights of the start of a new school year. I can't begin to imagine the feelings kids, parents and teachers alike are feeling these days. I can't say for sure, but I'd be whiling to bet they are more along the lines of uncertainty, worry and anxiety. While I work in the higher education field, back to school is very much different for us this year too. I consider myself lucky that my work environment is responding to the pandemic in a proactive way. The same can't be said about the mass opening of schools in the province...
