It's September first and that can only mean one thing: it's back to school! While I know going back to school equates to a lot of different scenarios this year, the feeling of renewal is still very much present today. As I've mentioned before, I'm still working from home, so not actually "going back" to school. Regardless of where I physically am today, I'm in the back-to-school spirit and featuring this's year's take on my traditional back-to-school look post! (See my previous ones here, here and here.) I let myself be inspired by the look of school uniforms with a little bit of Hogwarts magic sprinkled in. I've rekindled my love of all things Harry Potter while on lock down and a few wizardly elements have found their way into my look.
I'll start with my favourite bit: a new pin that reads, "When in doubt, go to the library." Any fellow Potterhead will get the Hermione reference but this pin has a dual meaning to me because I also happen to work in a library! I'm keeping the Hermione parallels going strong with the curled (slightly voluminous) hair. Finally, the colour palette for my look is predominantly blue, which is a Ravenlcaw colour (and my house!) Then, I added some red for Gryffindor and there are subtle shades of yellow and green in my scarf to represent Hufflepuff and Slytherin. The gold buttons on the structured dress are reminiscent of school uniforms so I thought this would be the perfect central piece to my look. I added cognac shoes and a matching bag to include a warmer fall hue. All in all, I think I'm ready to board the Hogwarts Express when the clock strikes 11. Got to run to Platform 9 3/4! Happy new school year, everyone!
