Mimi Takes Five - #162

ONE // Office Ladies Animated!
Great news! One of my favourite podcasts (the show that got me started on podcasts, actually) is getting turned into an animated series on Comedy Central's YouTube channel! This is fantastic! Sadly, I was only able to watch the clip posted on Instagram as the videos are not available for viewing in Canada... That's a bummer. I've been a huge fan of The Office for as long as I can remember and have loved rediscovering the series through the Office Ladies podcast, so this is like a mash-up of the two. I just love Angela and Jenna's stories and banter! Hopefully, I'll get to view the animated series soon enough!

TWO // Cherry & Blueberry Cobbler
We made our first ever cobbler the other day and it was amazing! We had cherries that were on their leg, so we searched for an easy dessert recipe to use them up before they went bad. We found this basic cobbler recipe and gave it a whirl. It is a very simple recipe that is easy to follow. We had all the ingredients on hand, so that made things even simpler. The milk was also going bad, which makes it the perfect thing for this. (Think along the lines of buttermilk pancakes.) We didn't have quite enough cherries so we improvised and added blueberries. It turned out amazingly and tasted heavenly. It was gooey, rich, and the edges were perfectly caramelized, which paired well with the warm berry bursts. We'll definitely keep this recipe handy!

THREE // Rainbows
Ever since I put up my Nutmeg and Arlo suncatcher, we've been getting lots of rainbows. I put it right in the patio door we get the strong afternoon sun there so in the evening, we get to enjoy an abundance of rainbows shining throughout our main living area. They put a smile on my face every time I catch sight of one and I have to say, it's so uplifting! It's crazy how happy rainbows make me. Having them shine within our space is so special. This is one of my best purchases as of late! I made this reel, compiling many of the colourful apparitions for your enjoyment!

FOUR // Fresh Cuts
We were finally able to get appointments to get the dogs groomed. They really needed it, the last time they went was March... We've been washing them regularly at home and brushing them as much as possible, but it was long overdue. They are all fresh now with cute cuts and they smell great! I'm  sure they are happy about it too and feeling much better. The pandemic has been hard on them too. They are happy about all the extra love, but they've had to live with sporadic salon openings along with us!

FIVE // Miss Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries
My husband recently came across this show and thought it would be right up my alley. He was right! I've been enjoying season one of Miss Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries. It's about a young woman who stumbles upon a secret society of fierce women when she inherits the fortune of an aunt she never knew. Set in Melbourne in the 1960s, this show is full of fun fashions, vintage vibes and good old mysteries. I am only now realizing that this is actually a spin off of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. So not only do I have the second season of the spin off to look forward to, but I also have three seasons of the original show! I just love discovering old shows that I missed the first time around. I'm also a big fan of shows set in bygone times because I take such pleasure in discovering styles of the those times.
