Six

The minute I learned that Six was coming to town, I knew I wanted to get tickets! This musical has been on my list for a few years now and I was not going to miss the opportunity to see it. It's at the intersection of my love of musicals and royals. I'm very familiar with the story of Henry VIII and his six wives so this subject matter was right up my alley. Now, I tend to dress thematically whenever I go see a show. I don't know why, I just do. I can't explain it. That being said, I knew I wanted my look to give nods to the Tudor style, yet keep my personal touch as well. I settled on this violet ruched bodice, puff-sleeved dress. The square neckline and overall aesthetic screamed Tudor court to me. I then opted for simple pearl earrings that remind me of the pearl drops on Anne Boleyn's signature necklace. I opted for a simple matching pendant necklace of my own. Then, the piece I simply could not pass up was the padded statement headband! I mean, I'm been saying for years that they remind me of the Tudor headpieces, albeit less impressive. I then finished off the look with matching brown flats for comfort. All in all I think I hit just the right note of inspiration without veering into costume-y.
