In My Burgundy Era

This was entirely unplanned, but I've noticed I've been gravitating to burgundy (and plum) lately and wearing it on repeat. It's a warm, jewel tone so that tracks with my personal leanings. I predict the trend will continue throughout the holiday season. I'll still be wearing the bright red and greens, but I think burgundy will be a mainstay this year too. I like that it's a bit less expected during the holidays yet is still a perfectly appropriate choice. It's like bright red's big sister colour, slightly more sophisticated, if you will. Now, I don't play favourites and enjoying wearing all the colours but I tend to favour certain shades at times. Right now, it's burgundy's turn. I will admit that today's shades of red aren't a perfect match as the skirt reads more red than burgundy but I decided to just go with it. I've paired red and burgundy in the past and loved the complimentary combination. I've also been digging deep into my necklace stash lately and rewearing old pieces. The Buffalo flannel shirt and velvet flats give the overall look a more casual feel, perfect for a lowkey holiday get-together. It's good to have a range of outfit choices!
