Mimi Takes Five - #382

ONE // Festive Bath Bombs
Bath season is in full swing and I am going through my stash of bath bombs rapidly. Luckily for me, Lush has stocked their shelves with the seasonal offerings. I popped into my local store to grab a few festive goodies. I got two favourites - the gingerbread man and the Santa. Good, dependable classics for me! I then grabbed a blue snowflake and one of the festive puddings. I've tried this one in the past and decided it was finally time to get another. I think I passed up on it the last few years because there were so many more enticing options. While the selection was great this year with lots of cute designs, I ultimately make my choice by the scent. That's my number one criteria for a good bath bomb - I need to like the scent. It's as simple as that! Now I should be good to get through the holidays.

TWO // Decorations
I got around to decorating for Christmas last weekend. I always like to get everything up by December 1 and since that was on Monday, I did it during the last two days of November. I started with the tree and that proved more challenging. When I plugged in the first third, half the lights weren't working. After trouble shooting, I figured out it was a fuse that needed replacing. Once that was fixed, I finished putting up the tree but decided to only put the ornaments on the next day. I did put out the other decorations because that takes less time overall. I was ok going at a slower pace this year and not stressing about getting everything done the same day. I put on a Christmas record while I slowly decorated my tree. I always love how cozy everything feels with the festive lights on during the dark winter nights. It's so inviting and magical! Can't wait to spend my evenings in my cozy, festive space.

THREE // Velvet Pants
I've been wanting a dressy black pant option for a few years now. But, because it's such a basic piece, I never prioritized getting a pair. This year, I decided to up my game with black festive closet staples. Classic black velvet pants were a must and I knew I could rely on the Pixie style from Old Navy. I have many a Pixie pant and they are all great. It's not the most exciting thing to add to one's closet, but it is definitely worth it for its versatility. You'll get lots of wear out of black velvet pants during the holidays and beyond. It's a dressier option than black jeans but not as fancy as black dress pant. It's the ideal happy medium that will pair perfectly with many a Christmas sweater or dressy blouse. I'm very pleased I got a pair this year!

FOUR // Peppermint Mocha Creamer
Now that it's officially December, I'm switching up my coffee routine. Move over Pumpkin Spice, it's time for Peppermint Mocha! I love switching out my coffee flavours to match the seasons. Yes, I'm that person! I love peppermint just as much as I do cinnamon, so it's only fair that I give each flavour its own season to enjoy. I'm not a coffee purist and am most definitely one that enjoys fancy flavoured coffees. I like a sweet, decadent beverage! Adding a splash of peppermint mocha creamer to my morning coffees in December is one of those little seasonal rituals that make my season bright. My favourite one is the International Delight! When browsing the website, I also found out there's a Gingerbread Cookie flavour that I find intriguing. I'll keep an eye out for it because it might be worth trying.

FIVE // Holiday Drink PocketBac Holder
Speaking of peppermint mocha, how cute is my new hand sanitizer holder? If I had to guess which warm beverage it's meant to represent, I'd go with peppermint mocha. Or maybe peppermint hot chocolate. Either way, it's a perfectly festive little bauble to add to my red purse for the season. Long before the current purse charm trend (yes, I mean those fluffy little monster charms), I've been adorning my purse with a cute little hand-sanitizer holder. It's both adorable and practical! I've amassed a small collection over the years as I like to switch them out with the seasons. This new green mug with candy cane is the perfect option to tote around this holiday season.
