Denim Dress Crush

I have been low-key wanting a denim dress for a couple years now... Luckily for me, they are having a moment right now and there are plenty to choose from. It's giving peek 90s vintage vibes and I am here for them! We've all had an elementary school teacher (or two) in the 90s that wore long denim dresses. I'm pretty sure my mom had some. I'm loving the country bumpkin chicness of it all! Maybe it's because I grew up in the 90s that I am now attracted to styles from that time. I didn't get to wear the adult versions of the grunge era so I'm leaning into it now. I love a plaid flannel and give me a vest in any fabric. I guess what's old is new again! I settled on getting a silhouette that was very me and more structured. The fitted bodice and gathered seems at the waist create a lovely silhouette. I see a long denim dress a bit like a dressed-up version of overalls. They are a classic neutral garment that is easy to wear and can be styled many ways. I layered a white long-sleeve tee under mine, added a cute floral scarf in my hair and cognac ballet flats. It's giving grown-up kid in the best way. I'll be reaching for this dress a lot now that it's finally in my closet!
