We have entered heatwave season and the number one priority when getting dressed these days is whether I will melt or not. It's not a fun game. I don't like it one bit. Instant sweat when I step outside, frizzy hair because of the crazy humidity, having to fan myself and think of all the extra sun protection required is brutal. There is just no way of staying comfortable, let alone cool. I opted for a lightweight black dress (to prevent evidence of sweating being visible), a big straw hat for shade, comfortable wedge sandals and a ton of sunscreen. I also carry a hand fan with me at all times these days and fan myself like a high-society lady of yore. Trust me when I say using it is solely for functional reasons and not for appearances. I'm sure my aggressive fanning at times is very unladylike, ha ha! I'm already over sweaty season and year for a crisp fall morning.
