TBT - Denim Dame

Ok, I know some of you would cringe at the thought of a denim dress, but hear me out. The key in pulling off a jean creation is to find one that is the right shape for your body. I tend to wear the fit-and-flare style well so I chose a denim dress in the shape. The extra elasticized detail at the waist keeps the focus on the narrower part of me, making it flattering. The material itself is also not too thick, which is non-restricting and allows the dress to have movement. I also styled my dress simply with minimal accessories to let the garment speak for itself. I did have fun with the shoes and the added detail completes the outfit without competing for attention with the main attraction.

TBT - Chic Sheath

This classy white sheath with black piping is a great addition to any wardrobe. The classic cut and simple lines make it easy to wear and give any look that extra bit of polish. I personally feel it has a slight nautical vibe to it. Sadly, I never got around to styling it with red seeing as it was unsalvageable following the fire. I will keep an eye out for a similar dress because it really has that perfect timelessness to it. With summer stock it stores right now, I hope I find a decent replacement. Fingers crossed!

Same, Set, Match!

It doesn't get any more basic and classic than a black and white outfit. Today's look is actually a coordinated top and skirt in a fun graphic print. I rolled up the sleeves to show the reverse side of the material for that added contrast. (P.S. the skirt is totally reversible. Hello versatility!) I finished off the fun and quirky look with a polka dot bandana scarf and black t-strap heels to give it a bit of vintage glam. The accessories totally transform the look and give it an air of sophistication, without compromising the whimsical aspects. Add some oversized sunnies, and you are all set to watch tennis at Wimbledon!

Wrap & Pearls

The upside to settling in is rediscovering some of my clothes. I've had this dress for a few years and it sure is a keeper! The sweatshirt-like material means it is very comfortable and warm while the wrap silhouette and the grey palette make it a timeless piece. I kept my look very chic and simple by adding a multi-strand pearl choker, grey tights and black booties. I can see myself wearing this dress time and again. It's always nice to find oldies but goodies in one's closet. Especially when one hasn't seen the full contents of one's closet for a few months...
