Neutrals 101

I took three neutral colours and built an entire outfit from them. The feature players are black, ivory and cognac. By sticking with a simple colour palette you, achieve cohesiveness in your look. In order to add interest and dimension, I opted for a pattern and textures details like the bouclé of the skirt and cable-knit style of the sweater. I also added interest with the layered pussy-bow blouse that peaks out the back and front; this layer helps create definition between the skirt and sweater. I then added stronger contrast and definition with the black tights, cape and beret. I absolutely love the final result of this simple, yet classic look! I can see myself wearing a version of this outfit for many years to come. It's seasonal sophistication at its finest. Capes in the fall just hit differently.
