Presently Pampering

I took a day before Christmas to pamper myself. I booked a long massage had a good soak in a bath with Epsom salt and a festive bath bomb. I then gave myself a mani/pedi at home while watching Christmas movies. There is no better start to the Holidays than by taking time for yourself and resting. It's the present I gave myself! I do a full-blown pedicure once a month, foot soak and everything! It's a bit of a ritual and I love doing it! It forces me to sit down and stay put while my feet are soaking and while the nail polish dries. Proper foot care is very important to me as it is easy to neglect those little piggies... By taking time for myself before all the parties and family gatherings, I makes sure I'm good to go! I decided to wear comfy leggings and a drapey sweater. Comfy and cozy was the theme of the day! Sorry for the fresh face and messy hair, today was all about feeling good, no so much looking good!

Back to Work(ing out)

You all know the drill... After the eating marathon that are the Holidays, getting back into healthy habits is the tried and true way to go come the new year. I figured I'd post a typical weekend-workout look. I tend to live in my Lulus on my days off. I like to think it's to motivate me to work out, but the comfort of my workout gear definitely plays a part in the choice... I wore a typical black leggings and black tank combo. Seeing as it's winter, I added a grey overpiece to the mix for the added warmth. Don't mind the fresh face and messy hair, I don't glam up to work out!

Plaid Rush

  

 

It would appear I need my weekly fix of plaid... After a few days, I start jonesing to wear some! I've got enough variety to choose from, but I tend to gravitate towards this blouse a lot more lately. Maybe it's the high-low hem, or even the super soft feel of the fabric. Either way, I've managed to sneak this piece in on a regular basis! Here a the other recent posts featuring the addiction (here, here and here). I think it's safe to say this one's a keeper!

Ladylike Look

 

When going through the boxes of clothes my mom brought over, I came upon this super cute dress! I tried it on and immediately loved it! It fit perfectly and has the sweetest peasant touches. The simple floral print, the delicate ruffles at the sleeves and neckline and the light fabric all remind me of Little Bo Peep! Because it is a lights fabric, I decided to pair it with tights and an overpiece sweater for the cooler weather. I added simple jewelry that picks up on the colour palette and finished things off with these fabulous multi-coloured contrast pumps! How eye-catching is that colour-blocking? This classic shoe has an edge and its burgundy, so will obviously be on repeat this Holiday season!

Marshmallow World

The snow is finally here!!! Winter arrived from one day to the next. It was a huge overnight snowfall reminiscent of the "instant winter" scenes in cartoons! Poof! It's here! That meant that it was the perfect conditions to go snowshoeing and get my lazy butt of the couch. I was maybe moving from the couch, but I was not giving up on the leggings. They are after all the most comfortable leg ware to wear inside snow pants. So I bundled up and braved this marshmallow world for the first time this year. It felt great making my own trail through the fresh powder!

P.S. I obviously traded the flats for heavy boots, those were my indoor shoes for the day.
