Fringe and Tassels

I basically wore this exact look (see here) not too long ago, but swapped out the boots for sandals and voilà! Crazy how simply switching up accessories and footwear can really update a look or adapt it to a different season. This outfit is basically an updated version of the classic white tee with jeans. The lace on the top and the distressed finishing of the jeans bring this season's trends to the forefront while switching out the statement necklace for a bright fan-fringe one and adding tassel sandals, (both in a turquoise and coral colourway because of my obsession) spring it right into a summer-worthy look. Try this trick with one of your past outfits! It's basically the reverse of the options layering can do for your wardrobe in the winter.

Rose Goldie Locks

Here is my weekend-uniform take on wearing my go-to colour combination! This simple coral flutter-sleeve tee is so comfortable and easy to wear it has been on repeat as of late. I paired it with simple striped shorts and light turquoise sandals. The barely visible tassel earrings tie the outfit together. Also, note the coral nails. I figured that was a safe bet for my manicure as the colour is sure to match my looks. The real kicker here is the hair. My sister suggested I add rose gold to my hair and I thought she was brilliant for suggesting it! I mean, rosé/rose gold is all the rage this season, so why not incorporate it in my hair? It meshes so well with the blond and definitely stands out when I wear coral, so this is a multiple win in my book! Next time, I say we add even more rose gold to my locks!

White This Way

There is nothing like a crisp white dress! This one has really cute detailing at the shoulders and it adds just the right amount of interest. I paired it with a green cardigan and simple espadrilles for an easy-breezy summer look. This dress could easily be dressed-up for a more formal occasion by removing the cardigan and switching out the footwear for a more dressy option. Add on some statement earrings and you are ready for that cocktail hour!

Canada 150!

Happy 150th birthday Canada!

Living in the capital of the country has its perks, and I actually enjoy going on the Hill whenever I can for Canada day, but this year, I'm avoiding it. I predict it will be way too busy for my taste so I decided to stay home and make some leeway on settling-in. Yup, this resettling is quite the process! I did decide to get into the festive spirit with my outfit (I'm not that big of a downer!) The weather was also cloudy with lots of rain, so had I actually gone out, I would have worn my red rubber boots. So there you have it, my red and white look for a milestone birthday that I will celebrate in my own way!
