ONE // Summer Favourites
In today's post, I decided to do a little look back at some of my favourite summer pieces. First up, is my straw tote! Worn and used many times, it was the perfect on-the-go bag. It took me from my work commute straight to a day on the beach and everything in between. It's very roomy and holds all the essentials. I also love that the straps are through eyelets as I find that feature makes them sturdier. The inside is lines and has a zip pocket for any valuables. It's also the perfect neutral that goes with any look. The best part is that this bag was a real bargain at H&M. I plan on using it for many a trip to come because it won't lose its shape during travel.
TWO // Ivory Midi Dress
A good, neutral dress is a key piece to have in one's wardrobe any season. Last spring, I snagged this beautiful ivory midi dress with lace trim from Old Navy. It was definitely an MVP of my summer closet. I wore it all the time! It's comfortable, airy, modest and can be worn both casually or dressed up. The styling possibilities are endless, not to mention it can take you from dinner to the beach to a picnic in the park or even brunch! It's definitely a great building block to pack on a trip or to just instinctively reach for when you don't know what to wear. I almost regret not purchasing it in more colours.
The best news came on Tuesday, when Blair announced another collaboration with Nordstrom! I was a huge fan of her first limited edition collection last fall and cannot express how happy I am that she will be launching more! I am a big fan of her colourful and feminine style and all of her pieces speak to me. It was hard not buying everything last year, but I will be preparing as of right now to shop the new ones! I'm holding off on the bow dress because I want to see everything before taking the plunge. I will be keeping my eyes peeled, that's for sure!
FOUR // White Espadrilles
I don't think it's a surprise to anyone at this point, but my all-time favourite summer footwear is the wedge espadrille! I have a few pairs in different colours, but this white/ivory one is the most versatile. The neutral shade means it goes with pretty much everything. I particularly love wearing white footwear in the summer because it's the only time of year I can get away with that. It keeps the looks light and airy, just the vibe I usually go for in the hot summer months. I have to admit these ones are not as comfortable as the Old Navy ones (which are 1/3 of the cost), but I do still wear them on repeat!
FIVE // Peasant Top
Last, but not least, is my square neck peasant top! I absolutely love everything about this top: the Swiss dot texture, the neckline, the puffy sleeves, the lightness and the vintage romantic feel. It's got both that Little-House-on-the-Prairie and that Little-Bo-Beep vibe. I loved wearing it all summer long and will be looking forward to rewearing it next spring! So, there you have it, my most loved pieces of the summer. Time to put them away for now and switch gears for all the fall wear.
