I totally feel like I belong in the 1950s with this get-up! The cherries, the red lips, the hair scarf and the basket... I look like a housewife right out of a Coca-Cola ad. Just turn the jeans into high-waisted cigarette pants and I'd blend right in. This is not the final look I had envisioned when putting my outfit together, but I am feeling it!
One of the things I like about fashion is that it's cyclical. The shapes, patterns and styles of clothing always seem to make a comeback. My mom is forever telling me how she used to sport the nautical style or some other style that I'm currently wearing. She always goes: "You know, I used to wear that when I was young!" I guess the cherry doesn't fall far from the tree!
Part of me wishes we had more pictures of her to get a sense of her style back in the day and see how it compares to mine today. Who knows, maybe a descendent of mine will get to do that someday. This blog is my style legacy in a way! Anyways, this look displays a bunch of my current favourites such as straw bags, bandana scarves, red lipstick and a fun print. It's me through and through, but somehow ended up having vintage vibes. Go figure!
