Boots & Bows

You know what I love so much about burgundy? It's a colour that transitions seamlessly from fall, to the festive season and all winter long. This beautiful, deep shade of red is a staple hue in my fall/winter closet because I can literally wear it all the time from September to March. I finally got around to wearing my adorable burgundy knit sweater with bow detail. This particular sweater was a very popular style for the last couple years at J. Crew Factory and I was lucky enough to get this one on clearance in the spring. It's simple, preppy and feminine; everything I look for in chunky knits. It can be dressed up or down and will be worn on repeat during the following months.

Today's look is very fall, but if I switched out the plaid cape for a black wool coat, it's would be perfectly suited to the holiday season. I'd maybe add my pearled black velvet headband for an extra touch of glam! See, by switching out one piece of my look, I can rewear this (almost) exact outfit come December without looking out of season.
