Come What May

Well, here we are, May 1st. Another month gone. I was just thinking the other day that this is the longest stretch I have ever done of not physically going to my office. I predict I'll have to dust a little when I get back. Haha! I will also have some catching up to do with my daily word calendar. Something to look forward to! Trying not to think too, too much about what will have to get done when I do get back to my office but, sometimes, I can't help but wonder. While we don't know what comes next, one can only live in the present and make the most of everyday, not matter how trivial said day might be. I'm trying to keep an open mind and adapt as best I can. Who knows, some of these new habits or routines might stick around for the long haul! Time will tell.

For now, I'm sticking to my daily routine of getting dressed and chose a neutral palette for today's look. A Breton top is always a good idea. I paired it with white jeans and beige espadrilles. I treated myself to a pair of CastaƱer espadrilles for my birthday and am taking the time to break them in a little before wearing them outdoors. I love espadrilles for summer because they are effortless, go with anything, are in line with my straw obsession and are comfortable. I had been eyeing this brand for a long time and finally took the plunge. They are beautifully made, although I'm finding the toe box to be a bit on the narrow side. That might just be this particular style. I think they'll mould to my foot in time. I did spray them with a protective coating because they are made of jute and fabric, so are susceptible to the elements. This neutral hue will go with everything, so I predict I'll be wearing them often this summer!
