She Sells Sea Shells...

Take me away! How I long for summer travels that takes us by the sea or lake shores... I grew up in Northern Ontario, near the shores of Lake Huron. There is something so freeing about being near a great expanse of water. An instant calm rushes over you as you take in the beauty of your surroundings. Many of my ancestors lived in the Maritimes, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, so I guess one can say that coastal love runs in my veins. I've also always been drawn to the nautical style, so I guess the (crab)apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Haha! 

Unfortunately, I suffer from horrible motion sickness when on a vessel of any sorts. I do love boating, but I cannot win when it comes to the swaying motion of the ocean... I don't let that stop me and still boat as much as possible. I find it better when I'm on the deck or can see the horizon. However, sleeping on a boat is out of the question unless I am heavily medicated. Either way, I am content with spending time near the shores and enjoying the sound of the crashing waves. Here's to hoping this summer brings us many water-bound opportunities!
