The other day, an Instagram memory popped up and it was about a wonderful evening spent at a jewelry store soirée followed by a viewing of the Nutcracker ballet with a friend. That's when it dawned on me that this year would in fact be very different... I'd sort of gotten into the tradition of attending the Nutcracker every year (or every couple years) and it is definitely not in the cards for this year. However, I did see a few ads for live-streams or showings on television. I might try to find a way of still enjoying the production from the comfort of my own home. In the meantime, I decided to put together an outfit that would be perfect for Nutcracker night at the theatre. I was inspired by my little nutcracker brooch and built an outfit around it with burgundy, gold and shimmer! I'll just be here, pirouetting my way to the couch while thoughts of sugar plums dance in my head...
