I can't help myself but wear red for Remembrance Day as it goes with my poppy. For years, I wore my cadet uniform to the cenotaph for remembrance ceremonies so it's nice to get to wear my own outfits now. I won't be attending any ceremonies in person today, but I always take a moment to reflect on the past and what it means for my future. While it might seem like distant history, the World Wars weren't that far away and there are plenty of ongoing conflicts around the globe. It saddens me to see that, to this day, fighting and violence are still so prevalent. If history teaches us anything, it's the violence is never the answer. I long for a day when we heed those lessons and apply them to the present.
