Mimi Takes Five - #236

ONE // Valentine's Day Outfits
I tried something new and did an outfit reel last week. I compiled six different Valentine's Day look options. There's a lot of pink, red and hearts - but, hey, that's the name of the game! I did sneak in a pant outfit for a more casual, subtle look. However, it's mostly very thematic and includes many dresses and even a skirt. It's fun to have an occasion to dress for and I like brainstorming outfit ideas so I thought I'd share them all in one place! You can find exact and similar items linked here. I hope this inspires your own Valentine's Day looks!

TWO // Mauve G&G Bow
Back at the beginning of January, I participated in Grace & Grandeur's Slumber Party launch for her Valentine's Day collection. Naturally, I fell in love with the entire collection, but was able to limit myself to a single bow - the Dusty Mauve Judy short bow. It is so gorgeous in person! I'd been wanting to add a pink one to my collection and this one is just the right shade for me. I've already worn it a few times and it truly is a perfect option for Valentine's Day outfits.

THREE //HHH Spring Drop
The first drop of the year happened this past Wednesday! Hill House released their spring collection and it's a good one. This was one of what will be four big launches this year. It has all the dreamy pastel prints with patterns varying from gingham to florals. They also brought back some old silhouettes like the Nesli (a favourite of mine) and the Sabrina while introducing plenty of new ones like the Matilda, the Vivi, and the Colette. Not to mention some cute separate options with matching tops and shorts to mix and match. There are even cute knitwear options and their swim line in basic black. So many good options to choose from. Not sure where to start? I'd say go with the tried and true Ellie silhouette if this is your first foray into Nap Dresses. I myself got the lilac gingham Ellie. I can't wait to layer it for winter and wear it right into spring.

FOUR // Embroidered Hoop Love
I happened to spot this cute, seasonal hoop embroidery on nutmeg_creations91's Instagram the other day and thought it was adorable. It's a very simple hoop that says I luv ur butt surrounded by little hearts. It's simple and to the point! This would be such a cute Galentine's gift for your best girlfriend or simply an I'm-worth-it gift for yourself. You know, self-love and all. Either way, it's a very precious handmade gift option for Valentine's Day. I have many hoops by Megan and love each and every one of them!

FIVE // Purple Hair Tinsel
I got my roots touched up the other day and decided to get more hair tinsel. The last time I got some put in was in November and at least one of the strands lasted until a few weeks ago! I had had a full hair colour and trim done while still having them in. I'd never had some stay in for that long - it blew my mind! After a little break, I was ready to get more and decided to go with purple. I've never chosen purple before, but I decided to risk it. Turns out I love it! It's a more pinkish purple as opposed to a bluer purple and I think it goes very well with my current hair colour. I've also been wearing more purple these days, so figured it was a good time to try it out. As always, I'm very satisfied with the result. Hair tinsel brings me so much joy!
