Mimi Takes Five - #237

ONE // Pull-Apart Buns
Now that I'm working in person again, I'm finding it harder to find time to bake. Simply put, I just have less time and energy when I work outside the home. Yet another plus to add to the WFH column. Anyways, I did manage to find a sliver of time this week to attempt to make these cheese-filled pull-apart buns from a recipe I saw on Instagram. I gave it a whirl and they turned out beautifully! The recipe was pretty straight forward and did not require as much proofing time than other bread recipes I've done, making it a good option to whip up at the end of the day. I didn't have any mozzarella, so used marbled cheddar. The melted cheese wasn't as stretchy, but it still worked. I also put all 12 buns in the same cast-iron pan and there was a bit of wiggle room. I'll try to make the buns slightly smaller next time, to better fill out the pan. I think 14 would do it. This recipe is a keeper and I'm sure I'll turn to it time and again!

TWO // Outlander - Season 7
It has been released that season 7 of Outlander will come to our screens this summer! While season 6 had the fewest episodes of any other season (due to the pandemic), the next season is to have 16 episodes. Hopefully, this will allow for more in-depth story lines and maybe even catch up on some of the overlooked elements in the past season. I'm currently reading An Echo in the Bone and am looking forward to seeing more of Jamie's son in the upcoming season along with the American Revolution, which the story had been building up to until now. At least I'll have time to finish reading the book before the new season is released. That'll be a first for me in my Outlander journey. Last time, I postponed watching the season until I had finished the book.

THREE // Blush Pearl Belt
I've had this statement belt for a few years now, but have been wearing it a lot lately, so thought I'd give you a closer look. It's actually a great belt because it's not too thick. While I love a thick waist belt, I know they are not for everyone. This one is an entry-level waist belt and very easy and comfortable to wear. I love the delicate detailing of the pearl buckle; it just elevates it and makes it that much more refined. The soft blush hue adds to that effect. I find myself reaching for it over and over these days as it seems to pair well with a lot of my dresses. Belts are such great accessories to add interest and shape to an outfit, a true MVP.

FOUR // Macarons
I had a craving for macarons last week, so decided to treat myself. I knew exactly where to go to get some and selected an assorted six-pack. I'm not picky when it comes to macarons, so all flavours are welcome: I like anything from decadent to fruity! I actually stretched out my little treat over three days and it was a little highlight each day. I hardly ever buy myself lunch or a coffee on work days and I have a hard time justifying this time of expense. However, I'm trying to show myself a little grace and give into the craving every now and then. This box of macarons was exactly the pick-me-up I needed!

FIVE // Love Again Movie
So the trailer for this movie finally dropped and I am so looking forward to it! I mean, it's a romance movie with Sam Heughan and Priyanka Chopra AND Céline Dion - how could I not be interested? It's giving P.S. I Love You meets a gushy Hallmark movie, but I am here for it. I'm very much excited for Céline's movie début (even though she will be playing herself) and also to the new music that will be released with regard to this movie. More Céline music in my life is always welcome! The movie releases on May 12, 2023, now to convince the husband to go see it in theatres...
