Mimi Takes Five - #243

ONE // Bath Bombs
Every season, I like to treat myself to a couple bath bombs or bubble bars from Lush. They make taking a bath such a luxury. I actually prefer taking a bath when I want to unwind and have some me time. Because I see it as a treat, I like to really lean into that aspect and make it as special as can be. Bath bombs are some of those items I decide are special enough to me and worth investing in. Some people drink fancy coffees every day, I like a bath bomb once in a while. My recent purchases include Lakes and Groovy Kind of Love. I used the Lakes one the other day and the bath water was a relaxing shade of light green, very spa-like. It has a more earthy, woody scent; which is not what I typically gravitate towards, but it was quite lovely. I have yet to try Groovy Kind of Love, but its citrusy scent is more in line with what I typically prefer.

TWO // Lilac Gingham Nap Dress
Ever since Hill House relaunched its signature gingham Nap Dresses last summer, I'd been hoping and praying they'd be releasing a lilac one at some point. Lo and behold, it was part of their Spring 2023 launch and you bet I did not hesitate for one second on which print I was going to buy. I ended up getting my usual Ellie style, but I was tempted by other silhouettes. However, I am extremely picky on fabric print alignment at the seams of garments and I didn't want to risk getting a dress with a misaligned pattern (which is what I was seeing on the stock photos). I just can't justify this lack of attention to detail on a $200 + dress. This being said, I was pleasantly surprised to find out this dress was lined when it arrived. This is a great addition, not only providing better coverage but also giving the bodice more structure. This is an upgrade I appreciate. Get ready to see this dress often in the coming months!

THREE // Easter Treats
There are a few treats I really enjoy this time of year, and they both happen to be marshmallow based... I must get this from my mom because she's also big on marshmallow candy. Thanks mom! My all-time favourite are the Dare marshmallow rabbits. I have to say, I do miss the dual-coloured older version. I'm not a fan of the single-coloured little heads. They used to be full rabbits. At least the flavour and texture remained the same. I just make sure to eat two at a time, ha ha! The other treat I like is Peeps. Are they the most amazing? No. But I still enjoy eating them. They make such a mess, but I can't stop. 'Tis the season for all the Easter candy so get some while you can!

FOUR // Statement Fabric Bow
I can't stop buying hair bows... In my defence, this one is not velvet, ha ha! I could not resist this gorgeous printed fabric bow from Grace & Grandeur! It's a collaboration with a custom print by Elizabeth Alice Studio and the most gorgeous hair bow I've ever seen. Now that I'm used to wearing statement bows in my hair, I figured I was ready to take things up a notch. It will be the most perfect finishing touch to all my spring outfits. I did not chose the bow life, the bow life chose me.

FIVE // Purple Puzzle
I felt like doing another puzzle this week so dug out this one we've had for a while, but had never gotten around to assembling. The box was still sealed, so it was a fresh challenge. And a challenge it sure is! I'm pretty used to doing 1000 piece puzzles, but this one's a doozy. I'm loving all the purple, but it's basically just purple... I've been at it all week and haven't finished it yet. While it's hard, I am still very much enjoying the process and liking the challenge. It's good to work on a project that pushes the limits sometimes. I just put on a podcast and can puzzle for hours. It's a great way to disconnect and relax for a bit.
