Cheers to a New Year!

No better sweater for the first of the year. Starting it with a little sparkle is the way to go! I'm not into new year's resolutions as I find there is too much pressure to make unrealistic goals and then feel guilt and judgment when they are not achieved. I'm more into implementing small, sustainable changes in my life and starting them any time of the year. There is no need for this Janaury timeframe choke hold. I'm easing into this new year in a state of contentment, relaxed and refreshed with no pressure to do anything according to a timeline. I will listen to my mind and body and will implement changes if and when I feel I need to, with the goal of making me feel good as opposed to putting pressure on myself. Life is hard enough as it is, I want to do things that make it easier on me. It's as simple as that.

I'm starting this year with an open mind and welcoming what it has in store for me. I chose to be happy and chose to not tie that happiness to the subjective achievement of a far-fetched resolution. I'd rather look back on what I accomplished in the past year and reflect on that journey. Focus on the goals you did reach whether you had set them or not. I think it's more important to notice the accomplishments and progress as it's happening than focusing on the things you didn't do or feel you "should" be doing. Everybody is different and progress in measured differently as well. Ultimately, do things that make you happy, don't do things because you feel pressure to keep up with others. On that note, I want to wish you all a very happy 2024, may it be filled with memorable moments!
