Maple Season!

One of my most favourite spring traditions is going to the Sugar Shack to get my fill of maple syrup, 'tis the season! As a French Canadian, this tradition dates back a long time in my family and my uncle still has his little sugar shack where he boils his own maple sap to turn it into syrup. He keeps us well supplied! You know when your mom brings you an old Gatorade bottle filled with maple syrup that it's straight from the source, ha! Last weekend, we took some new friends of ours to a local sugar shack for a hearty breakfast, maple taffy on the snow and a tour of the boiling shack. Let's just say no steam room compares to that of a tiny, warm sugar shack boiling maple sap. I naturally wore plaid for the occasion, tradition dictates it's the classic garment for such an outing. We had so much fun, we're considering hitting up another one soon.
