When I say I audibly gasped when I saw this hair bow online, I mean it! My bow-loving heart could not stop beating in excitement! It's a statement satiny fabric hair bow encrusted in pearls? Sign me up! I added to cart so quickly, I almost got whiplash, ha ha! My only worry was the weight of the hair bow. It looked hefty. Well, it was more beautiful in person that it was on the website (if that is even possible) and I was smiling from ear to ear when unwrapping it. It's literally what my hair bow dreams are made of. I immediately wore it the next day in a half-up half-down hairstyle. I made sure to sit the bow higher up on my head to mitigate the weight of it and it actually worked well. It is heavier than my other hair bows, but it's totally wearable. I have long hair so am also used to heavy ponytails and buns... If you have very thin hair, it might not work for you. Maybe a thinner bejewelled ribbon bow option would work best. Keep an eye out, we are entering fancy holiday bow season!
Anybody remember the Richard Scarry books or cartoon series? We had the books growing up and I remember spending hours flipping through the elaborately illustrated pages of this word. It was a busy, busy world indeed and every animal character was as endearing as the next. I vividly remember the Lowly Worm and his little red apple car! That's exactly what I thought of when I saw this bath bomb! Sure, it's a green caterpillar in an apple, but I couldn't shake that Scarry imagery. Now I rarely take baths in the summertime, so am not usually buying bath bombs. However, I just had to have this one and it smells like a crisp apple orchard. I'm saving it for my first bath of the season when the weather cools down enough. I suspect it will be sometime in September, which is also apple season. So yet again, I am on theme!
It was time for our pup to go for her seasonal trim at the groomers the other day. We planned it so that she would be freshly groomed for our camping trip. While I like her all soft and fluffy, this was the wise choice as she would dry a lot quicker post swim (or bath if she gets really dirty!) Shorter fur also means it's easier for us to check her for ticks and other bug bites. I also think less fur means cooler for her. We'd be spending lots of time outdoors, so long periods of time in the heat. Fear not, I did bring sweater options for her for the evenings and the cooler weather! I can't get over how different she looks without all the fluff. She actually looks like the lean puppy she is. That fluffy fur is misleading!
FOUR // Nude Tights
My love of Sheertex continues! I was very happy with my nude tights from last year, but found them to be too light for my end-of-summer skin tone. I always get a bit tanned over the summer, so wanted to get nude tights in a shade darker to better match my skin tone in the fall. I took advantage of a sale to get a pair. As luck would have it, I ordered the wrong size... I've been buying Sheertex tights for years, so know my size. I just had a momentary brain lapse and got the wrong size. Luckily, my friend, who'd been meaning to try these tights, needed that size. It was a win-win situation. Is it funny I'm already looking forward to having to wear tights again?
FIVE // Watermelon Drop Game
I've discovered this game lately and am really enjoying playing it! I'm pretty sure it was an ad that popped up while I was playing another game on my phone and it got me! The goal is fairly straight forward. You have to try and get matching fruits to touch, at which point they turn into the fruit above it in the line-up. So two limes turn into one grape, two grapes turn into one orange, etc. The goal is to finish with two watermelons. It's a lot harder than it looks! The challenge is that the fruit bounce around and shift within the playing window, so every move can have an impact and not always the one you are hoping for. I only got to two watermelons once (pictured above), but could not get them to touch, so am still unsure what happens at that point. Either way, it's a really fun and challenging game!
