ONE // Ghost Earrings
The only souvenir I brought back for myself from my trip to Halifax last summer were these tiny clay ghost earrings. Only I would find fall earrings in July, ha ha! It's my little souvenir from my first solo trip in a very long time and I got them at the Citadel, so not only are they cute and seasonally appropriate but they also remind me of a good trip I had. The creator (The Little Red Door) is local to Halifax. I'd been anxiously waiting for fall to get to style and wear them! Now, I'm making the most of it and wearing them as much as I can. I can't get over the cuteness of the ghosts holding itty-bitty pumpkins. So precious!
TWO // Candy Apple Candle
I might be a little late to post about this candle because I'm not seeing it on the website anymore. However, there's a chance you might still be able to find this candle at your local stores. I'm posting now because I just took it out for Halloween. I was saving it for the right season! I'm a big fan of crisp, green apple scents and this one has just the right hint of tart and sweet to it, making it a delectable choice for the spooky season. Other than the perfect scent, this packaging is beyond! The intricate lid with hologram magic mirror effect is out of this world. I love that Bath and Body Works candles are just as pretty to display as they are a delight to smell!
THREE // Hill House Holiday
Hill House is releasing their Holiday drop in three separate capsules over the next three weeks. I like this approach because it categorizes products in a logical and digestible format. I'm very happy they decided to release all of the line sheets at the same time because this greatly simplifies planning. First up was the Party Capsule (October 8), then will be the Tartan capsule (October 15) and finally the Gift Shop (October 22). While I love the options in this week's party dress line-up, I don't have any big fancy events coming up this holiday season so can't justify a party dress. I am loving the gold, black and red colour palette thought! I'm holding out for the tartan drop. My flannel tartan Nap Dresses are some of my most comfortable and get plenty of wear in December (and beyond!) I didn't think there'd be a new or different enough tartan this year, yet I think there just might be... I'm hoping we get more sneak peeks before the drop. The chokehold tartan has on me is no joke.
FOUR // Moody Mani
I always like giving myself a seasonal manicure in the fall. I don't know why, but I tend to prefer painting my nails in the fall/winter. I suppose it has something to do with my cocooning mode and taking time for pampering and self-care. Either way, I landed on this very deep purple for a very moody mani. I know it looks black (once you apply a second coat). While it looks black, I still find the shade less harsh than actual black. I also prefer painting a dark colour on shorter nails, I find it helps the overall look be less harsh. I also find they are less prone to chipping (which is very noticeable with dark nail polish). I'm really feeling it! I might even get creative and follow up this manicure with another seasonal colour or even style. We'll see how I feel when the time comes.
FIVE // Pumpkin Latte Bag
Another midsummer fall find was this precious pumpkin spice latte bag! Bath and Body Works always has the most adorable cosmetic bags, I swear. I always get sucked in by their cute designs. While I know they are technically cosmetic bags, some come with cross-body straps or backpack straps, which I love! I actually use them as whimsical purses. We all know how much I love a cutesy purse, right? I got a peppermint candy a few years ago and love wearing it as a purse during the holidays. However, this PSL bag has no straps at all. I still decided to get it and will try to add a strap to it somehow. I plan on using the removable strap from another purse. I just need to figure out how to fasten it to the bag. I did a little research and found this D-ring hardware kit on Amazon. It was such an easy thing to make a couple holes and screw on the hardware! It only took like ten minutes. I'm so happy with the way it turned out and now I get to use it as a purse!
