By this point, the trees are almost bare with a few straggling leaves hanging on. I see them and respect their tenacity! Even though Halloween has come and gone, it's still fall and I will enjoy it to the very end. You know where the leaves are always in perfect autumnal form? On my leaf sweater, of course! Ha ha! I'm still wearing it in solidarity to those leaves who are hanging on for dear life. I know all good things must come to an end, but there's no need to rush it. The colourful leaves are a big part of what makes the season, so once they are gone it feels so empty. I find the days between the last leaf falling and the first snowflakes to be the hardest seasonal transition. My trick - go into Christmas mode to boost my morale! I try to tamper my excitement until at least after Remembrance Day. It just doesn't feel right to go into holly-jolly mode before then. But until then, I'm still in fa-la-la-fall!
