I have a very soft spot for pairing black with a cognac brown or burnt orange shade in the fall. It's such an elite seasonal colour combination. When all else fails, wear black with a caramel colour. Take it up a notch by choosing a black and white print for extra contrast like I did with my polka dot dress. I kept the theme going with the pearl headband and earrings that echo the print. The warm elements are the burnt orange cardigan and cognac flats. I can't tell you how much this outfit makes it feel like fall. The best part is that I have had all these pieces in my wardrobe for years and no piece is individually labelled as a fall piece, except maybe the cardigan. But I can easily wear these pieces and style them throughout the seasons. It just goes to show you how much of an impact styling can have and how versatile some basic pieces truly are.
